SEMAC, the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council, has funded our grant to support our first ever Summer Melodrama Camps! These camps are a great opportunity for your children to learn about our theater and what goes into a production at the Opera House. Children of all ages are welcome.
Get ready to boo, hiss and cheer for our youngster villains and heroines! Children of all ages are invited for two weeks to learn the art of the melodrama, then present their very own production!
$50 includes 10 days of camp the final performance and 2 tickets to the current Melodrama! It’s a deal so good, it’s villainous.
All participants must complete this registration form by the first day of camp.
To reserve your spot, click on the appropriate age range below and bring the completed registration form on the first day of camp.
All camps meet Monday-Friday from 1:00-3:00 pm for two weeks and have a performance on Saturday following the camp at 1:00 pm.
In the camps, we’ll explore the making of a melodrama and its hallowed history in Mantorville. We’ll cover everything from set construction to voice projection and at the end, we’ll put on our very own show! This is a great opportunity for young aspiring thespians to try theater in a fun, educational, and low-pressure environment.
