"The Nutcracker's Nuts" by Dennis Wickline plays November 18 - December 4. (Three weekends only!) 11th. Thanks to the enthusiasm of our audiences, and the willingness of the cast and crew, we have extended our run for a fourth weekend.

THE NUTCRACKER'S NUTS takes place in the Northern Lower Peninsula (of Michigan). Simon's Rest is a retirement community in Frankfort, Michigan. Every Christmas the residents perform their traditional, boring, and harder and harder to produce version of A CHRISTMAS CAROL. Every Christmas, that is, except this one.

Minnie Winchester, an elderly piano teacher, suggests that the residents do something new, something like THE NUTCRACKER. Everyone agrees that it would be wonderful to try something new and THE NUTCRACKER is accepted immediately. Tickets quickly sell out. Just as rehearsals begin, however, the retirees discover one important and overlooked detail, THE NUTCRACKER is a ballet, and Minnie Winchester,  who always wanted to play Clara, the lead, doesn't know how to dance.

Doors open 30 minutes prior to show time for this popular seasonal comedy.

Please note that we have returned to our regular Saturday schedule (as opposed to an experiment we tried last year), so Friday and Saturday performances will be at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday performances will be at 2:00 p.m.

Planning a holiday event? Consider celebrating with a private event at the Mantorville Opera House.  Contact us about buying the house for "The Nutcracker's Nuts" on December 9, 10, or 11. You can reserve a private production for the cost of 100 reduced rate tickets. ($1300)

NOW ACCEPTING CREDIT AND DEBIT CARDS AT THE DOOR! (Cash, checks and large quantities of gold still accepted!))

We are looking for a few good people to volunteer to take tickets and host a sales table during the rest of our 2013-14 season. Contact us is you are interested.

Audience participation is a requirement for the melodramatic portion of our season. Come prepared to cheer for the hero and heroine, boo the villain or villainess, and applaud the efforts of our characters (or groan at their jokes!)

We are excited with all of our shows of the 2015 - 2016 and the 2016 - 2017 seasons.  Watch our Schedule Page for more information.

Many, many thanks to our generous corporate sponsors who help us keep the costs to our patrons down throughout our 2013-2014 season.

We are also grateful for a grant received from IBM's Fund for Community Service, which combines funding with volunteerism from IBM employees and retirees.

Feel generous? What we appreciate most is your joining our audience, but if you'd also like to join the Mantorville Theatre Company, or give a tax-free donation, click on this text.

Volunteers for Publicity needed - If you'd be willing to volunteer to help out with distribution of posters, design of posters, writing press releases, working on programs, organizing mail and email lists, sending letters to specific groups that might be interested in our shows, and the like - please contact us.
