Just one weekend left for the first show of our melodrama season

"Double Trouble in Soda, South Dakota" or "The Two Sides of Sheriff Tom," by Denise Ruemping, premiering on our stage June 12 - July 5, 2015

A mysterious stranger has blown into town, demanding a “protection” fee, protection from his bullying ways that is, and just when the loyal sheriff has oddly disappeared. However, the crew at the local general store finds something very familiar about this strange intimidator. Can they figure out what’s going on before this dastardly villain comes to strong-arm his fee from their little shop?

Reserve your tickets with our box office at (507) 635-5420 or purchase them in advance via Paypal with the link, below, or by paying a visit to the Mantorville Chocolate Shoppe during their normal business hours.

Adult tickets are $10. Reduced Rate tickets (students, seniors, Mantorville Theatre members, and a few other groups) are $8. Shows start at 7:30 Friday and Saturday evenings and at 2:00 on Sundays.

Looking Forward

Our 2015-2016 season kicks off with the

43rd consecutive season of the Mantorville Melodramas!

Beginning June 12 and playing Fri/Sat/Sun through September 12, there are four shows in our melodrama season that you won't want to miss. Three of these are locally written and premiering on our stage and the other is a reprisal of a show that premiered on our stage some several years ago.

All Hallows Feast Auditions

Auditions for our very popular October murder-mystery dinner theatre will be held July 12 and July 19 at 7:00 at the Mantorville Opera House. This year's production will be "11 Million Dollar Murder" by Michael J. McKay & Julia McDowell. It is an excellent comedy with some music and a lot of interaction between the cast and the audience.

NOW ACCEPTING CREDIT AND DEBIT CARDS AT THE DOOR! (Cash, checks and large quantities of gold still accepted!))

We are looking for a few good people to volunteer to take tickets and host a sales table during the rest of our 2013-14 season. Contact us is you are interested.

Audience participation is a requirement for the melodramatic portion of our season. Come prepared to cheer for the hero and heroine, boo the villain or villainess, and applaud the efforts of our characters (or groan at their jokes!)

We are excited with all of our shows of the 2014 - 2015 season.  Watch our Schedule Page for more information.

Many, many thanks to our generous corporate sponsors who help us keep the costs to our patrons down throughout our 2013-2014 season.
